UNIVERSAL PATELLA STABILIZER KNEE BRACE

Description

Patellar dislocation

Patellar dislocation

Patellar dislocation occurs when the patella (kneecap) slips out of its normal position in the patellofemoral groove. Often, the injury is an result of sudden twist of the knee or direct blow. Patella usually move into place without orthopedic reduction.

Dislocation can occur also without injury, what is common in young girls with lax ligaments or in people with valgus knee.

There are 4 types of dislocation:

  • lateral
  • medial
  • vertical
  • horizontal

Both before and after injury, when central lack of the knee cap stability occurs, the patella should be protected against the dislocation.

For this, we introduced our universal knee brace OKD-20.

Product’s description

OKD-20 is a patellar tracking brace against the dislocation and subluxation, equipped with special insert providing knee cap stability.

The insert is easy to attach in every needed place, depending on the type of the injury.

Patellar insertion is L-shaped and can be used as an support in the following places:

lateral and inferior side

Technology

MATERIALS

UniPren™

UniPren™ is a universal 3-layer material consisting of an external elastic polyamide cover knit with a self-adhesive function, an internal neoprene foam core and an elastic jersey cover knit. This material is characterized by softness and very high flexibility. A very important advantage of this material is the fact that it is not a knitted product, it does not have thick fibers, so that the weaves of the material do not imprint on the patient's skin and do not cause abrasionsin places of high compression. Products made of UniPren™ are the strongest and most effective stabilizing orthoses available on the market. Self-adhesive function, the raw material makes it much easier to use.

STIFFENINGS

Spiral boning

Our orthopedic spiral boning is a thin wire, coiled into a spring and flattened. We use boning of various widths and wire thicknesses, which determines the strength of their stabilization. Each spiral boning has two specially profiled fittings to prevent damage of the orthosis. They are galvanically protected against corrosion by the galvanizing process, so they are resistant to water, moisture and sweat. Products equipped with bonings can be washed without removing them from the orthosis. They work in every direction, perfectly adjusting to the user's body and have a shape memory function, thanks to which they always return to their original profile. This function causes the spiral boning in the orthosis to stabilize the swollen limb immediately after the injury and after the swelling has come off.

PADDINGS

3D supports

3D relief supports are independent technical solutions to relieve the rigid elements of a given orthosis. These elements are made of supporting foams or EVA foam. These foams are connected with various types of skin-friendly materials and materials with an adhesive function. These pads have the appropriate shape and color adapted to the type of orthosis. They relieve both metal elements of orthoses, such as splints, stays, underwires and orthopedic drop locks, as well as other elements that should not come into direct contact with the patient's skin. These pads have an anatomical shape and are made of comfortable foam with proper hardness and elasticity, guaranteeing the proper therapeutic effect.

Patella stabilizers

Relief stabilizers of various shapes made in 2D technology. They are made of relieving foams connected on one side with a fabric friendly to the patient's skin, and on the other with a gripper, thanks to which the stabilizer can be attached to the adhesive element of the orthosis. Thanks to such a structure, these pads do not have to be sewn into the orthosis, and they can simply be fastened to it from the inside. These elements have an anatomical shape and are made of comfortable foam with proper hardness and elasticity, which guarantees the proper therapeutic effect.
