Degenerative spine conditions, discopathy, and sciatica are diseases that require medical consultation. However, we can often halt their progression and relieve symptoms ourselves. If there is too little synovial fluid (due to age or lack of movement), the articular cartilage becomes thinner, developing cracks and irregularities. When it completely wears away, the bones rub against each other, causing severe pain when attempting any movement. Bone friction can also occur due to flattened discs. Sometimes, osteophytes\u2014cartilaginous and bony growths\u2014form on worn vertebrae, distorting the joint. By pressing on nerves, they cause pain during movement.
