The patellar tendon is an important component of the knee extensor mechanism. The OKD-21 knee brace is a short, flexible knee brace designed primarily to offload and stabilize the patellar tendon. It helps maintain the patella in proper alignment within the knee joint, supporting its correct tracking during movement.

The OKD-21 patellar brace features a specially anatomic-shaped silicone pad positioned near the distal attachment of the patellar ligament. During activity, the pad applies localized pressure to the tendon, redistributing the forces acting on it, reducing tension and limiting excessive loading. This helps offload the patellar tendon attachment and reduce pain occurring during movement.

An additional adjustment system allows the level of compression to be individually adapted to the user’s needs. The OKD-21 patellar brace fits securely around the limb without rigidly immobilizing the knee, allowing physiological joint mobility to be maintained. Independent adjustment of the silicone pad pressure makes it possible to customize the level of offloading according to individual requirements.
