Description
Dynamic functional hand and forearm support with finger separation was developed for positioning treatment and immobilization of contractures of wrist, radiocarpal joint, hand and fingers.
The fitting of the Functional Wrist Orthosis is obtained by 3 sets of Velcro tapes; forearm, wrist and palmar strap. The product is equipped with soft padding provides comfort to the patient. The extensive regulation of the brace allows easy adjustment on each anatomy of forearm and wrist.
Dorsal band on fingers provides support for phalangeal area. The product is supplied with soft finger separator which prevents to fingers overlapping, anti-spasticity, relieves pain fingers and keep them in correct position.
Per customer request, the standard separator may be substituted for neurological separator which stabilizes each finger separately. Extra price.
The orthosis is made of innovative AirSanmed™ non-elastic textile, which properties allowing an improvement in stabilization level of the joints. The orthosis is covered with perforated medical laminate allowing easy evaporation of the sweat, semi-rigid perforated comfort foam located inside and a breathable cotton terry cloth in contact with the skin of the patient.
The internal frame of the brace is realized following an innovative construction, made of aluminum with different degree of plasticity connected with rods. The frame is totally laminated by soft foam. The new technology applied in Functional Braces, allows the easy adjustment on upper limb, WITHOUT use of any additional tools or heat guns. Thanks to the open work construction and frame properties, the fitting and adjustment is possible to be made even in medical consultations, by doctors or physiotherapists.
The Functional Wrist orthosis allows the regulation of radial or / and ulnar deviations of the hand. The structure and used materials help to relieve the symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome.
In addition, for this brace you can purchase special neuro-rheumathological fingers separator. It provides proper position of fingers and maintains optimal abduction of the proximal phalanxes in case of neurological or rheumatological disorders. When the spasticity occurs, the separator prevents the fingers against the excessive “squeezing”. In case of Swan-Neck Deformity in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), the device construction with special fastening, correct the fingers from ulnar to neutral position. Maintaining of the optimal neutral hand position allows to stop the process of neurological or degeneration diseases.

MATERIALS
AirSanmed™
AirSanmed™ isn’t elastic what provides excellent stabilization. The skin has contact with cotton terry with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate. There is semi-rigid perforated foam EVA inside that protect the skin against the metal splints influence. External side of the fabric is perforated medical laminate with antibacterial properties of Silver Zeolite. It provides long-term efficacy and prevents the most dangerous infectious microorganisms such as MRSA and E.coli. AirSanmed™ is in accordance with Health Minister`s ordinance of 3 November 2004 and Council Directive 93/42/EWG of 14 June 1993.
STIFFENINGS
Aluminum frame for the hand and forearm
The aluminum frame consists of a steel base and soft aluminum sheets that can be easily shaped. The frame consists of a hand part with a thumb stabilizer and a part of the forearm. The set is not painted as it is intended for installation between two layers of foam. The skeleton is delivered to the patient in a flat version and it is the doctor or physiotherapist who shapes the stabilizer to the shape of the limb by bending it properly without the use of any tools.
PADDINGS
3D supports
3D relief supports are independent technical solutions to relieve the rigid elements of a given orthosis. These elements are made of supporting foams or EVA foam. These foams are connected with various types of skin-friendly materials and materials with an adhesive function. These pads have the appropriate shape and color adapted to the type of orthosis. They relieve both metal elements of orthoses, such as splints, stays, underwires and orthopedic drop locks, as well as other elements that should not come into direct contact with the patient's skin. These pads have an anatomical shape and are made of comfortable foam with proper hardness and elasticity, guaranteeing the proper therapeutic effect.
