The osteoarthritis, also known as wear-and-tear arthritis, is age-related condition. In a healthy joint, the movement is smooth due to a cartilage which covers the ends of the bones between joints.

Over the years, the cartilage loose its properties and becomes dehydrated. In this case, the knee movement becomes painful and destroy the bones. Other factors, such as poor diet or overweight, result in malalignment and knee wear and tear. Knee damage caused by the osteoarthritis can lead to a Baker’s cyst developing. The Baker’s cyst is located in popliteal fossa and causes the pain and bruising. The best solution for OA knee is our knee brace AS-KX-08.

Knee brace AS-KX-08 is an excellent product in case of knee osteoarthritis. The brace is open-designed so offers easy application for people with limited hands functions. It’s made of light, comfort waterproof fabric UniPren™.

UniPren™ is loop-hoop fabric for easy adjustment of compression. Due to this fact, knee brace AS-KX-08 offers therapeutic compression and reduces bruises.

What’s more, the brace AS-KX-08 is equipped with lightweight hinge and two lateral splints 1R made of plastic. The splints provide smooth range of motion adjustment in every 15 degrees and possibility of knee immobilization if required.

The brace’s design allows to use it in case of Baker’s cyst. The back of the knee brace is a “free zone” and do not cause the compression of the Baker’s cyst. This solution allows to change the bandages in the popliteal fossa without necessary of removing the brace from the leg.

Knee brace AS-KX-08 is an excellent support in case knee instability and painful syndromes. It maintains knee joint in alignment and offers smooth knee movement. Knee brace AS-KX-08 stabilizes the knee joint and provides its immobilization if required. A brace offers wide range of circumferential adjustment. MATERIALS

UniPren™

UniPren™ is a universal 3-layer material consisting of an external elastic polyamide cover knit with a self-adhesive function, an internal neoprene foam core and an elastic jersey cover knit. This material is characterized by softness and very high flexibility. A very important advantage of this material is the fact that it is not a knitted product, it does not have thick fibers, so that the weaves of the material do not imprint on the patient's skin and do not cause abrasionsin places of high compression. Products made of UniPren™ are the strongest and most effective stabilizing orthoses available on the market. Self-adhesive function, the raw material makes it much easier to use.

STIFFENINGS

Splint 1R

1R splints – single axis orthopedic splints used in all knee joint and upper limb braces, where apart from adjustment of the flection and extension angle, high lateral stabilization of the joint is not required, but important if low weight of the brace. Due to the low weight the splints are successfully used in all braced for children. They are manufactured with high quality polyamide with carbon fibres, making the splints light and neutral to the influence of sweat and salt, properly firm therefore assuring correct functioning of the device. Adjustment of the flexion and extension angle is performed with special Allen screw in every 15°. Each brace is equipped with an Allen key, which is necessary for adjustment. Standard length of the braces is: 280 and 380 mm. The splint and its design are patented in European Union by Reh4Mat Company.
