OSS-OS-07

OSS-OS-07 – ONESIZE DROP FOOT BRACE
Description
FOOT DROP IN ADULTS

Foot drop is a condition in adults characterized by weakness or inability to actively lift the forefoot upward (dorsiflexion). In practice, this results in walking difficulties, as the foot does not lift properly, leading to toe dragging, a characteristic high-stepping gait (steppage gait), or compensatory abnormal movement patterns.

This condition most commonly occurs due to damage to the nervous or muscular system, such as peroneal nerve neuropathy, injuries, surgeries, stroke, or neurological disorders. If left untreated, it may lead to worsening gait disturbances, overload of other parts of the musculoskeletal system, and an increased risk of falls. Therefore, proper orthotic support and rehabilitation are essential to restore a more physiological gait pattern and improve safety during movement.
Early diagnosis and implementation of appropriate therapy, including rehabilitation and drop foot brace such as OSS-OS-07, are crucial. Early intervention helps prevent secondary deformities and supports proper gait mechanics.
Product description
The OSS-OS-07 foot drop brace is a functional and comfortable solution designed to assist in lifting the forefoot during walking. The product is intended for individuals with weakness of the muscles responsible for dorsiflexion of the foot, regardless of the underlying cause.
The brace is made from soft, skin-friendly UniPren™ material, ensuring flexibility and all-day comfort. Its lightweight design prevents additional strain on the foot and allows it to be worn both at home and inside everyday footwear, remaining virtually invisible.
Thanks to its innovative design, the brace can be easily applied with one hand, which is particularly important for individuals with unilateral weakness, for example after a stroke. The adjustment system allows for a personalized fit to the user’s foot shape, ensuring stability without excessive pressure.
The mechanism of action of the OSS-OS-07 drop foot brace is based on dynamic assistance of dorsiflexion. A system of cross straps gently lifts the forefoot, preventing it from dropping and dragging during the swing phase of gait. The main stabilizing strap supports the ankle joint while maintaining natural mobility.
An additional strap encircling the big toe not only assists in lifting the toes but also helps maintain proper forefoot alignment. This improves gait biomechanics, enhances the push-off phase, and reduces overload in the forefoot area.
The open heel design enhances ground sensory feedback and reduces the risk of the brace shifting during walking. The product works dynamically, supporting movement without rigid immobilization, unlike traditional stiff orthoses, allowing the user greater freedom and comfort.
The universal size and wide range of adjustment enable the OSS-OS-07 drop foot brace to fit various users, providing effective support in daily activities.
The OSS-OS-07 foot brace is a practical solution for adults who require stabilization and support without the need for heavy and uncomfortable orthopaedic devices. It facilitates walking, improves gait safety, and supports a return to activity.

MATERIALS
UniPren™
UniPren™ is a universal 3-layer material consisting of an external elastic polyamide cover knit with a self-adhesive function, an internal neoprene foam core and an elastic jersey cover knit. This material is characterized by softness and very high flexibility. A very important advantage of this material is the fact that it is not a knitted product, it does not have thick fibers, so that the weaves of the material do not imprint on the patient's skin and do not cause abrasionsin places of high compression. Products made of UniPren™ are the strongest and most effective stabilizing orthoses available on the market. Self-adhesive function, the raw material makes it much easier to use.
